If you blog to drive traffic to your handmade business, I’m sure it’s easy to get stuck wondering what to write about next. You’re a creator of products and perhaps blogging is just not your thing.

No worries! I’ve compiled 50 inspirational topics to get those ideas flowing and keep that traffic coming.

Creative Blog Post Ideas for Handmade Businesses

Creative Blog Post Ideas

Photography: Many bloggers post one nice photo that relates to their niche and a quick caption  with a few sentences explaining the photo. I would not make this a constant habit but on days when writer’s block attacks, its not a bad idea.

Tutorials & How-To’s: Many people absolutely love tutorials. Go ahead and write one.  Include video and a lot of photographs.

Things You’ve Learned: Another awesome idea is to write a post about something you are learning or have learned as it relates to your business and products.

Blog Round-Up: Hop over to your favorite craft and handmade blogs and choose posts from them that you feel your readers would benefit from reading. Share 5-10 of those blog posts because they inspired you. Be sure to link back and give credit to their posts.

The Mess: Also known as “Crafter-math” – it’s the mess that comes with crafting, DIY, and handmade work. Share it with your readers. Show them details of the process of content creation with words, video, and photos. People love seeing the creative process.

Host a Giveaway: It does not have to be big or small to gain your readers’ interest. People love them. It could be a free printable or eBook. Anything that relates to your products that your readers can find useful and enjoy.

Trendsetters: What are some trends you’ve noticed in your industry? Create a list and share it if you believe your readers will find it useful.

Quality and Value: What makes your products or services unique and valuable? What is it about you that keeps your products above the competition? Share this information with your readers. People want to know they are getting a quality product and what makes it that way.

Create Free Printables: Printables are a real hit these days. Most everyone I know love them. Canva is an awesome tool to use to make beautiful printables. Think about how they could benefit your readers.

Share a Little About You: Share what you do when you’re not creating your products and help your customers get to know more about you.

Creative Blog Post Ideas That Inspire

Motivation: What motivates you? Share your motivation and come up with ideas to motivate others and how you keep on task with your projects.

Before & After: Show some before and after photos of people who use your product or service. Maybe post the entire before and after process of creating your product and the steps you take to get it to the finished piece.

SEO: Go to a site like Wordtracker and type in some keywords that are related to your niche. See what people are searching for and write information that will help them concerning those products or ideas. Do your research.

Walk Through Tour: Make a video taking your customers through your studio or shop and share with them product development.

Craft Shows and Fairs: If you attend fairs and craft shows, then you should take lots of pictures and videos and write a post talking about the experience you had.

Charities You Support: You can help raise awareness and garner extra support for charities so be sure to share information about any you support.

Testimonials: These are absolute gold mines so be sure to get testimonials from your customers and share them on your blog.

Challenges: Another one of my favorite creative blog post ideas is to tell them about some challenges your business has faced and what you did to overcome them.

Reshare Popular Post: Be sure to bring your favorite posts back to life and give them a little love.

Tools of the Trade: Everyone has some type of tools they use to create their products. Share information about your materials and tools with your customers because they’ll love it!

I hope these ideas are inspirational for your next blog post.
